Need a good, beginner's electric guitar package?
I'm looking for an electric guitar package that comes with, at least, an amp and a gig bag for a novice player. I'm hoping to be able to play my favorite metal songs with it, as soon as i start getting lessons. I've looked at the Silvertone SSL3 package, but i'm new to guitars, so i would like some recommendations on a good guitar package that's under $500.
don't get a "package" they usually have cheap quality guitars and the amps break or stop working really fast. for that price you can get some good gear, and good quality too.
you can look up these guitars on the guitar center website (im not too sure about the prices but its kinda accurate)
if you're just starting, i suggest getting a guitar for around 200-250 dollars.
1. Dean Vendetta - $149- $299 (depending on which model)
2. Jackson JS20 Dinky - $250
3. Squier Bullet Strat - $199-$250
4. Epiphone G-310- $249
5. Epiphone G-400 - $349(kinda pricey, but worth the price.)
6. ESP ltd. Mh-53- les than $230
and for an amp, get a 30w practice amp.
1. Marshall MG30FX, or MG30DFX,$199-$249
2. Line 6 Spider IV 30W-$199
3. Peavey Vypyr 30W$199
4. Fender Frontman 25R $99(though the distortion isnt too good, so i'd invest in a good distortion pedal such as the Ibanez SM7 distortion.
also, it helps if you get a friend who knows about guitar to help you pick something out.
p.s. metal (real metal) is NOT easy to play, and you'll find yourself making errors, and many give up guitar because of this. start off playing punk, pop, and some easy country songs, then move onto playing heavy songs.
good luck buddy/ dudette, hope you become a great musian someday.
