Bass Guitar Vs. Effects Pedal(s)?
Question 1:
I can get a Bass Guitar Package for $300, its an Ibby and comes with an amp and some other stuff.
OR
I can buy a effects pedal or 2, which should I get? effects pedals or a bass guitar? I know that some of you are gonna say that its personal preferance, aka, what I want... So heres what I already have:
1. Danelectro "Cool Cat" Distortion Pedal
2. Danelectro "Cool Cat" Tremolo Pedal
3. Banshee Talk Box
4. Ibanez RG something (No whammy bar, probably gonna sell and buy one with a whammy bar)
5. Ion IGA03 Starter Amp
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the effects pedal(s) for guitar.
Question 2:
Should I get an original Dunlop Crybaby or one with a phasel inductor?
OR
Should I get the Weaping Demon Pedal from Ibanez instead of a Crybaby?
OR
Should I get a different brand of Wah Pedal, like Vox etc?
To answer question 1: I would stick with your electric. Buying an Ibanez bass pack is really only good for practice and in my opinion is a toy for youngsters... I bought a Squire Jazz bass pack last year and had to get the store tech to do a full setup immediately as the bass was not in the best playing condition. When I took it out of the box, the action was way too high and the intonation was out of whack, then a few months later the strings began to rust..:( ..If I were you, I would save my money for a better amp or electric guitar or yes, a wah pedal.
To answer question 2: The MXR M-120 Auto q, in my opinion is the best wah for guitar. I play bass and own the bass model which is similar to the guitar model (which my friend has). The casing is bullet-proof, the controls are very diverse and it is one of very few wah’s that has a volume knob. The company has really taken ideas from others and incorporated everything into this wah.
However, If you’re into the pedal filter, the Crybaby 535Q is the next best thing.
Hope this has helped, peace.
